Power Electronics Converters for the Internet of Energy: A Review

This paper presents a comprehensive review of multi-port power electronics converters used for application in AC, DC, or hybrid distribution systems an Internet Energy scenario. In particular, solid-state transformer (SST) topologies have been addressed and classified according to their isolation capabilities conversion stages configurations. Non-conventional configurations considered. A comparison the most relevant features design specifications between popular has provided through effective table. Potential benefits SSTs applications highlighted even with reference network active nodes usage. also highlights standards technical regulations force connecting electrical system. Finally, two case studies presented discussed. The first one is isolated bidirectional dual bridge DC-DC converter useful fast-charging applications. second study deals three-port AC-AC multi-level H-Bridge configuration able replicate node capable routing controlling energy under different operating conditions.
